Guided Fly Fishing Wales Terms & Conditions 

Welcome to Guided Fly Fishing in Wales. By booking a guided fly fishing trip with us, you agree to the following terms and conditions. Please read them carefully to ensure we have a safe, enjoyable, and clear understanding before we hit the water.

 

1. Booking & Payment Policy

​

To secure your preferred date(s) for a guided fishing trip, a deposit is required at the time of booking.

  • Deposit Requirement: A 10% deposit of the total trip cost is required to confirm your booking. Your date is not secured until this deposit is received.

  • Balance Payment: The remaining balance must be paid in full on the morning of the trip prior to fishing.

  • Payment Methods: We accept payment methods, Bank Transfer, Credit/Debit Card, Cash.

2. Cancellation & "Wash Off" Policy

​

Fly fishing in Wales is a wild and wonderful experience, which means we are largely at the mercy of Mother Nature.

  • Our "Wash Off" Policy (Guide Cancellation): Your safety and the quality of your fishing experience are our top priorities. If I determine that river/weather conditions are unsafe or entirely unfishable (e.g., extreme flooding, severe electrical storms, or other unforeseen emergencies), I reserve the right to cancel the trip.

    • In the event of a "wash off," you will be offered the choice to reschedule your trip to a mutually agreeable date or receive a full refund, including your 10% deposit.

  • Client Cancellation: If you need to cancel your trip, please provide at least 14 days notice.

    • Cancellations made with more than 14 days notice will receive a full refund of the deposit.

    • Cancellations made within 14 days of the trip will result in the forfeiture of the 10% deposit.

3. Equipment Rental & Damage Policy

​

I am happy to provide high-quality fly fishing tackle, waders, and gear for you to use during our trip.

  • Normal Wear and Tear: General wear and tear, or the occasional lost fly, is a normal part of fishing and is fully covered.

  • Misuse and Intentional Damage: Rented equipment is expensive and must be treated with respect. If equipment (such as rods, reels, or waders) is broken or damaged due to negligence, misuse, or intentional damage (e.g., stepping on a rod, shutting it in a car door, or dropping a reel on rocks due to carelessness), you will be charged a penalty fee.

  • This fee will be equal to the fair cost of repairing the item or replacing it with an exact or comparable model.​

4. Health, Safety & Liability

​

Wading in rivers and being in the outdoors carries inherent risks.

​

  • Personal insurance recommendation: while I hold professional public liability insurance, i strongly recommend that all clients take out their own accidental and travel insurance for the duration of the trip. this should cover personal injury, trip cancellation, and loss or damage of personal belonging and equipment. 

  • You must inform me of any pre-existing medical conditions, allergies, or physical limitations prior to the trip.

  • Guide Authority: You agree to follow all safety instructions provided by the guide at all times. i reserve the right to end a session early if safety instructions are ignored.

  • While every precaution is taken to ensure your safety, Guided Fly Fishing in Wales cannot be held liable for any personal injury, illness, or loss/damage to your personal property (such as phones, cameras, or sunglasses) during the trip.

  • limitation of liability: Guided Fly Fishing in Wales cannot be held liable for any personal injury, illness, or loss/damage to your personal property during the trip, except where such loss or injury's is caused by our proven negligence.

  • Clause: Safety Equipment For your safety, the wearing of polarized sunglasses (or clear safety glasses) and a peaked hat is mandatory while fishing or observing. These provide essential protection against weighted flies and hooks. If you choose not to wear these items, I reserve the right to cease guiding immediately without a refund.

  • Clause: Photography & Media During the trip, I may take photographs or videos for marketing purposes (website, social media, etc.). By booking, you grant permission for these images to be used. If you prefer not to be photographed or have your images shared, please inform me in writing before the trip begins.

5. Licenses and Permits

​

Unless otherwise explicitly stated in your booking package, clients are responsible for obtaining a valid Natural Resources Wales (NRW) / Environment Agency rod license before fishing.

 

6. Governing Law

​

These Terms and Conditions shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of England and Wales.
